This board is a complete redesign of the opto PCB used on the trunk assembly of the Theatre of Magic pinball machine.

This board has four optical switches that help locate the position of the trunk as it rotates around during game play. The central shaft on the assembly has a plastic interrupter disc with one slot cut in it. As this slot passes through the optical switches, the game knows when to stop the trunk assembly.

Wide-slot optical switches eliminates any possibility of rubbing of the plastic interrupter disc. Larger traces and pads for better reliability and longevity. Visual status LEDs have been added so that the four optical switches can be easily checked. They also help in the precise positioning of the trunk.
